W5x / J160- Speedo drive / Sensor to gearbox seal

Fitted into a groove around the outside of the speedo drive or speedo sensor this O-ring seals against the hole in the gearbox housing.

Part compatibility

– Suits speedo drives or speedo sensors that are fitted into a 34mm diameter hole in the side of the gearbox housing. Examples are the W55 to W59, J160 and likely the G-series gearboxes as well as others.

– DOES NOT SUIT a W50 or a T50 gearbox.

 

Additional notes

– These speedo drives also have an internal seal from which they may also leak from, at this point in time we don’t offer this internal seal but will likely do so in the future. Alternatively we also sell complete W5x speedo housings that are supplied with both seals pre-fitted.

– The main product picture shown here is of a visually very similar but different part.

 

Installation

– Remove old O-ring seal by carefully cutting it in half with a knife.

– Clean the slot.

– Slide this replacement seal over the end and into place.

– Use oil or grease to lightly coat the outside of the seal.

– Reinstall the Speedo drive / sensor back into the gearbox.
